Triple W Wins 2019 DEVIES Award for Best Innovation in Healthcare for DFree

First Health Wearable Device for Urinary Incontinence - Monitors Bladder With Ultrasound and Notifies You When It’s Time to Go

SAN DIEGO – February 22, 2019 – Triple W, an innovator of connected health devices, today announced it was named a winner of the 2019 DEVIES Award for Best Innovation in Healthcare for DFree®, the first health wearable device for urinary incontinence. The 2019 DEVIES Awards recognize technical innovation, adoption and reception in the developer technology industry and by the developer community. The DEVIES Awards are the only awards recognizing excellence in developer tools, products & technology. The DEVIES Awards Ceremony takes place during DeveloperWeek 2019, the world’s largest developer & engineering conference & expo, organizing the global developer economy with over 8,000 attendees, February 20-24, 2019 at the Oakland Convention Center.

The 2019 DEVIES Awards received hundreds of nominations, and DFree was selected as a DEVIES Award winner based on three criteria: (1) attracted attention, awareness and adoption; (2) general well-regard by the developer, engineering & IT community; and (3) a leader in its sector for innovation.

DFree uses ultrasound technology to monitor bladder fullness and notifies you on your smartphone or tablet when it’s time to go to the bathroom. DFree helps to prevent accidental urinary leaks. Seniors and people with disability who need to manage a loss of bladder control now have an alternative to disposable diapers or pads and medications with the DFree health wearable device from Triple W. DFree stands for “diaper-free.” According to the U.S. National Institutes of Health, urinary incontinence affects 500 million people worldwide.

“We’re excited to be chosen for a DEVIES award for best innovation in healthcare for our DFree wearable,” said Atsushi Nakanishi, President and CEO for Triple W. “With DFree, people who need to manage a loss of bladder control can feel more confident by their ability to monitor bladder fullness in real-time and plan bathroom breaks ahead of time. DFree helps them to live a more active daily life and do the things they want to do.”

DFree is available for purchase now in the U.S. from the DFree website, Amazon and authorized retailers for $499.99 (MSRP). DFree is also available to rent from the DFree website for $40 per month with a minimum rental term of 30 days. The DFree companion app may be downloaded for free from the App Store and Google Play.
